And truth to be told, it takes time, and perhaps not everyone is up to it. Sort of like saying "make your own pasta".Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05525901019415679939noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8168437460312909622.post-53224109457204510902016-02-10T13:28:46.189-05:002016-02-10T13:28:46.189-05:00Oh my Kathryn, I hope it is not serious, get bette...Oh my Kathryn, I hope it is not serious, get better soon. (On that note, I am glad you have a hubby who is up to kitchen tasks!) I am with you on the soups, love to make them, I find it relaxing. It's like a kitchen meditation. I have two soup pots, that helps me parallelize the processing - if one is making one soup, why not two (or three)? Get better soon! Well, wasn't that fun? My foot is now up and being iced, with the laptop handily in my lap. I just finished snapping some fresh green beans for dinner (I had hubby bring me the rinsed beans to the couch), and I'm shouting out instructions to hubby as to how to cook them along with the red potatoes and rosemary. OK back to this post, sorry about that. The first thing I do when I start reading a new food blog is to start at the soup section, no lie! If the person is using canned crappy stock and "cream of" sh** in their cooking, I am immediately turned off by that. So, here I am at your second recipe, which is also a soup of course like the first one I had seen on your blog. (Of course I've seen many at Food52). What I truly enjoy about your writing is the journey and the evolution you guide us through to your final recipe. I am enamored by your ink sketch with this, too! OK long reply, but I just have one more thing to say about cilantro (which I love by the way). Sooo, you like to take a shower, right? (HA, OK that was a start. Baby steps, right?) :) I'll be doing some more exploring. ~KRAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8168437460312909622.post-13227685183058823982015-07-15T04:33:30.603-04:002015-07-15T04:33:30.603-04:00Thank you... Can you believe that after all the work we put into our little "culinary education", lime is still a milestone waiting to happen. But it is still better than nothing. I find it perplexing that we teach our kids to read, to love arts, music and theater, etc. but we do not always teach them to eat well... I love that you have carefully helped to develop your daughters palate introducing ingredients that normally would not make their way onto a childs plate. It's no wonder she has such a well develped and very mature sense of taste and knowledge of food; The apple does not fall far from the tree, you know I am a fan of not just your recipes but your style also.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
